Fine White Wines by Moondance Cellars Sebastopol, California

Here in the Russian River Valley, and the western coastal hills of Sonoma County, in northern California, some say the finest Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer wines are made by both small boutique vintners, and large wineries alike. It is the paring of the cool Pacific Ocean breezes and the sandy loam soil, which produces superior grapes, unmatched anywhere else on earth.

The French may disagree. but, well, that’s the French.

It was the mission of the Petaluma and Santa Rosa Railroad to bring prosperity and to enhance the lives of the country folk of West Sonoma County. Miles of light rail propelled the “Juice Train” through the hills and valleys carrying fresh produce to market, farmer’s wives to town, and for the first time, children to school. Orchard Station was a stop on that line.

Here at Orchard Station Winery, we have combined the tradition of fine wine making and our love of the small railroads, which once traversed California’s coastal valleys, into a family winery with a mission to craft fine wines, which also enhance the lives of those who drink them.
